Adam’s Apple

Oh, she’s understated and she’s fun! Adam’s Apple is a smaller space in Warrendale that is known for karaoke nights on Thursdays, so get those singing pipes tuned and ready to belt. It’s also more of a chatty bar where you can keep a nice conversation with your crew or a amiable stranger. Both owned and operated by trans women, Adam’s Apple is well-known as a welcoming space for transitioned folk. But of course, all are welcome at this quaint neighborhood bar.

Madonna worshippers, this is where you want to be. Not only can you twirl to a plethora of Madonna jams in one nighttime here, but you can literally move on the floor she danced on when she was 16 and unknown! WOW. As one of

New, multi-faceted nightclub Arcenciel aims to be a hub for the LGBTQ+ community

Detroit's latest club is Arcenciel: a gyrate hall, upscale restaurant and sports lounge that caters to the city's Homosexual community and their friends.

Named for the French word for "rainbow," the unused nightlife destination will have a gentle opening this weekend that includes a fundraising event for Ferndale community center Affirmations on Friday night. The official opening is Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 27.

The vision that co-owners David Grossman and Julie Adelson and general manager Joey Ewick have for Arcenciel is that people will uncover that their novel club is a place to pay the entire evening from dinner to drinks to dancing. In each element, hospitality will be key, from front door staff to the DJs.

"It's a show," said Grossman, an audio, video and staging specialist who is the founder and president of production firm Pegasus Entertainment. "It's dinner and a movie, that's what we're doing here. We have a bar, a restaurant and a lounge. It's going to be a entertaining place."

I have not worked on this blog in years. I quit it up because it documents history. Some of my comments are outdated and not reliable. I only posted the stories that I was told. That is why I left the comments sections on each exclude open so people could chime in with their thoughts/opinions. There still are a lot of bars I could list that I never got around to I know. The Gold Coast is closed, what is left? The gay bar is expired but for a few. I have discovered an alternative to the gay bar, the same-sex attracted campground. Gay campgrounds are much like the old gay bars, you have a sense of community and you can watch your friends every weekend. My favorite is Campit  in Saugatuck, MI. (Actually it is in Fennville)
