I don't comprehend how to prepare food, but I have a recent recipe called Andra Fuller. This guy is educated, fine looking AND hilarious. I know, right? Where'd he reach from?! Step aside, people! Yeah, that means you. I'm in line first.
Andra, best known for his role on The CW's critically acclaimed series, "The L.A. Complex", common some great awareness about his auditions, personal life and workout routine. Let's get to it!
You play Fish on the new comedic satire by Grown-up Swim, Black Jesus. What happened at your audition? Where were you when you found out you won the role?
When I first received the script for "Black Jesus" and saw that it was Aaron McGruder's new plan, I knew that it would be an instant punch. As I study it, I envisioned Fish as a grimey, unkempt, sketchy looking type of dude, so I made sure that was how I looked when I went in for the auditions. I went like two weeks without shaving or grooming so my beard was growing wild and untamed, the clothes I wore were all bla

There has been a lot of ink spilled about the underrepresentation of jet gay characters in film and television. The National Dark Justice Coalition – a civil rights organization dedicated to empowering Black LGBT people – has even teamed with GLADD to support improve the public presence of gay characters of color in the media. The CW also bids to fill the void with its criminally under-watched showbiz dramedy, The L.A. Complex.
The Toronto-lensed series chronicles the lives of pretty juvenile things living in Hollywood, and their never-ending quest for fame. Newcomer Andra Fuller finds himself at the epicenter of the show’s most talked about storyline. The Houston native plays Kaldrick King, a menacing, volatile gangsta rapper from Oakland who also happens to be gay, closeted and involved in a hush-hush association with Tariq, an eager music producer plucked to function on Kaldrick’s recent album. Fuller had no trepidations about taking the part, but those around him were leery about his decision.

He is set to play ‘Fish,’ the best friend, confidant and moral compass of the lead character in the new Adult Swim series “Black Jesus”. The half-hour live-action comedy helms from the Peabody Award Winning “The Boondocks” creator Aaron McGruder; and stars newcomer Gerald “Slink” Johnson as Jesus living in present-day Compton, California. RM: What possess you learned so far from working with Aaron McGruder; and what can you tell us about your character on the show?
AF: As we all know, Aaron McGruder is masterful when it comes to satire and evidence creative ways to carry awareness to some rather controversial subjects. But one thing that I own learned from Aaron is, that no matter how controversial or what story yo
Andra Fuller Was 28 With Three Degrees Before Deciding To Start Over And Follow His Hollywood Dreams
Despite the temperature hitting the 80s in downtown L.A., the inside of The MacArther is a stark contrast to what's going on beyond the double doors. A huge Christmas tree stands in the center of the lobby flanked with Christmas decorations and cameramen and crew members move help and forth throughout the production set.
I'm led up the grand staircase and dropped off at the make-up station where Andra Fuller, all smiles, is organism made camera-ready. “Sorry about that, they told me I was supposed to go on at 3:30, but they needed me on set at 2:30," he says, hinting at the spontaneity that comes with being an actor.
I follow him across the room and behind a curtained area that serves as his dressing room, where he slides into a suit jacket, transforming from Andra to Edmund, his character in the upcoming TV One film, You Can't Defend Christmas. “I've always been a character," he tells me. And for some reason, I think him.
