Actor Asher Grodman on lessons learned in show business, new show ‘Ghosts’ and more

As a shy kid from New Jersey, entity in show business wasn’t at the forefront of Asher Grodman’s mind. It wasn’t until middle educational facility when he started executing in the school’s jazz band, but it was his 7th grade infatuation on a girl that got him bit by the performance bug.

“I had a huge crush on this girl. I got up in front of the school and changed the words of the song ‘Brown-Eyed Girl’ to ‘Hazel-Eyed Girl’, it probably mortified her,” Grodman recalled with a laugh. “It didn’t work out very well, but the longing to connect overwhelmed the fear of rejection.”

From there, Grodman entered a scene contest in New Jersey and put on a scene from “The Producers.” His performance earned him second place, and that gave him the confidence to pursue acting opportunities while in school.

“There were auditions for the academy musical, which was ‘Fiorello!’ There was a part that required little to no singing, which was perfect for me, and I got that role,” said Grodman. “With the encourage

TURNING up for serve and immediately removing your trousers would normally result in a visit to the HR department for a dressing down, so to speak.

But when actor Asher Grodman arrives on the set of sitcom Ghosts, he is expected to be pantless.

The series, based on the BBC1 comedy of the same call, sees Asher compete Trevor Lefkowitz, a Wall Street investor who died while partying at Woodstone mansion — naked from the waist down.

Married couple Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay Arondekar (Utkarsh Ambudkar) inherit the house — and after Samantha falls down the stairs, and is dead for three minutes, she discovers she can watch the ghosts.
