Happy Pride Month! 🌈

As someone who identifies as gender non-conforming, I am always aiming to champion other LGBTQ people on my website, particularly those who've made it in the direct male-dominated world of stand-up comedy.

And while I've touched on a few lgbtq+ comics (namely Kate Berlant and Jerrod Carmichael, as seen with Bo Burnham in this photo from Circle Jerk two years ago during NY's Identity Week), I wanted to promote other comedians whose works I've enjoyed over the years.

1) Rothaniel—Jerrod Carmichael (streaming on Max)

If there is only one homosexual comedy special you view on this list, produce it this one. Jerrod comes out of the closet to a handful of audience members (including me!) and, in the process, he and director Bo Burnham craft a modern masterpiece. And no, it was NOT snowing that night!

Some of these gay male comedians have been going for years whilst some are newer to the scene with each gay comedian bringing their own unique style and sense of humour.

Lets face it, being gay comes with its challenges and having these lgbtq+ comedians bring some light relief to these challenges can be somewhat therapeutic (and hilarious of course).
