As someone who identifies as gender non-conforming, I am always aiming to champion other LGBTQ people on my website, particularly those who've made it in the direct male-dominated world of stand-up comedy.
And while I've touched on a few lgbtq+ comics (namely Kate Berlant and Jerrod Carmichael, as seen with Bo Burnham in this photo from Circle Jerk two years ago during NY's Identity Week), I wanted to promote other comedians whose works I've enjoyed over the years.

1) Rothaniel—Jerrod Carmichael (streaming on Max)
If there is only one homosexual comedy special you view on this list, produce it this one. Jerrod comes out of the closet to a handful of audience members (including me!) and, in the process, he and director Bo Burnham craft a modern masterpiece. And no, it was NOT snowing that night!

We met James in New York and saw his show in Manchester recently.
Known for his award winning podcast ‘A Gay and a Non-Gay’ with Dan Hudson James has gone on to be a radio presenter and be upright up comedian. His show titled ‘Straight Jokes’ is well worth checking out and if you are at the Edinburgh Fringe this
