Gay characters days of our lives

Happy Pride Month, Days of Our Lives! Here’s a look back at the soap’s LGBTQ+ characters and storylines throughout the years, including a Salem supercouple who made daytime history.

WilSon

The most notable and most popular LGBTQ+ couple on DAYS was Will and Sonny – lovingly established by fans as WilSon. Before becoming a couple in 2012, their story began in 2011 when Sonny (ex-Freddie Smith) came to town as the show’s first openly lgbtq+ character. Sonny’s arrival prompted a struggling Will (ex-Chandler Massey) to accept his sexuality and come out after breaking up with Gabi (ex-Camila Banus).

Although WilSon fell hard and speedy, their relationship never came without drama, starting with Will cheating on Sonny with Gabi and getting her pregnant with their daughter. Lucky for Will, an unexpected daughter didn’t phase Sonny, and the two made daytime history in 2015 as the first male same-sex couple to get married on a soap.

Will (then-Guy Wilson) later cheated on Sonny again with Sonny’s former partner, Paul (ex-Christopher Sean, who joined Season 2 of Beyond Salem), before he was killed by the Necktie Killer, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). But even death couldn’

All the lgbtq+ characters

Paul is John’s son with a woman named Tori Naurita, and Sonny and Will’s ex-boyfriend. He was brought in to be Wilson foil, and despite existence a great nature, never really got a soul mate of his hold. He first came in as a pro baseball player who had an affair with Will. Turns out, he was also Sonny’s ex. Will and Sonny separated, then Will was “killed” and Sonny and Paul got together. When Will was revealed to be alive, Sonny dumped Paul. However, it turned out this Will had amnesia and didn’t call to mind Sonny, so Will and Paul got together. Once Will got his memories back, he also dumped Paul and went back to Sonny. Paul, still being a excellent guy and ethics, took a bullet for Will (I think… don’t completely remember) and was paralyzed. He eventually left Salem to seek specialized physical therapy. I would love to spot Paul come help because Dr. Wesley is well versed in some recent treatment that could help him. Maybe something could unfold with them.

Sonny And Leo

Sonny and Leo had to be one of the most catastrophic couples on Days of Our Lives for the way Leo wormed his way into Sonny's life just to frame him for sexual harassment, resulting in Sonny unintentionally "killing" Leo and enlisting Will to serve him cover it up.

As disastrous as they were, the couple started with cute flirtations that linger to this day and are one-sided by Leo, who would always be up for a fling despite Sonny knocking him unconscious and rolling his presumably dead body i
