Organization Information
Mission Statement
The Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus creates social change through excellence in the choral arts.
Description
Over 30 years ago, five men met together in a living room and began what today has become a 50 plus member strong singing organization. As we access our 34rd Season, we want to thank all of our patrons, donors, sponsors, chorines and staff for a wonderfully uplifting journey.
When the RGMC was founded, the fight for equality was still in its relative infancy and our founding and early members raised their voices to share their stories and talents in song, establishing the RGMC as a performance group recognizable for its creative excellence and vow to the LGBT community.
The chorus regularly goes out into the community to sing at places such as SUNY Brockport and Genesee Community College, REAF, Asbury First Merged Methodist Church, the TedX talks, and more.
Membership is open to all and we identity ourselves on providing an inclusive, harmless, and social place to come together, sing, and network. We hope to
