Inthemidst of promoting his fresh movie "42," Harrison Ford has opened up about same-sex marriage in a new interview.

The 70-year-old actor sounds off on the similarities between Jackie Robinson's struggle for racial acceptance in major league baseball (as seen in the new film) and the battle for marriage equality throughout the U.S. and beyond.

"Things execute change quickly at a tipping point, as it builds and it builds and it builds until there’s a moment where the balance of belief, the weight of exposure and the understanding comes to a point where the scales tip in the other direction," Ford says. "We’re getting there, we’re getting there. You know, you would expect that it would hold happened with less resistance."

He then adds, "You would have hoped that everyone would get the point at the alike time, but life’s not like that."
